As part of the prestigious ISU World Figure Skating Championships Boston 2025, Josiane Lamond, founder of Lamond Signature, has been chosen to take on a most inspiring challenge: designing the costumes for the flower sweepers. The mission of this project is to celebrate the historic spirit of Boston, while celebrating the evolution and excellence of figure skating with subtle references to the city's defining eras, such as the American Revolution, the colonial period and Boston's iconic architecture.
Playing with noble fabrics, colors inspired by historic monuments and details reminiscent of local craftsmanship, the costumes will offer a unique visual experience.
These creations combine comfort and freedom of movement, while evoking sophistication and refinement, allowing flower collectors to move with ease while embodying the city's vibrant history.

In particular, the color palette was inspired by the Boston Tea Party era, when soldiers wore structured, formal uniforms in deep, bold tones - colors reminiscent of the American flag.
We wanted to honor this historical influence while infusing it with a fresh, modern interpretation. The colors chosen for the flowers sweepers costumes aligned perfectly with the official World Championships branding, ensuring a consistent visual identity. To further integrate this theme, we custom-printed a fabric featuring the mosaic pattern of the World Championships logo, adding depth and texture to the design.
After studying several sketches, we selected the model that best represented our two guiding themes: HISTORY and DREAM. The silhouette remains classic for figure skating, but features refined details inspired by the structured jackets of the Boston Tea Party era. The result is an elegant, timeless haute couture look - a design in which every element has meaning.
We were so proud of the costumes we'd created that it seemed essential to immortalize them, worn by the flower sweepers themselves. So, in February 2025, we headed to Boston to capture the magic of these creations in motion. We shot several scenes featuring our incredible flower sweepers, each of them living the experience to the full in iconic locations around the city. These history-laden settings perfectly embodied the spirit of Boston, providing the perfect backdrop to sublimate the beauty and richness of the Lamond Signature costumes, while paying homage to the vibrant soul of the city.
The ISU® 2025 World Figure Skating Championships in Boston are of particular importance, not only as the highlight of the season, but also as a crucial stepping stone to the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games.
Indeed, this event will determine the number of places each country will be able to allocate in each discipline for the Olympic competition, making the athletes' performances all the more decisive. With a rich history dating back to 1896, the World Championships are one of figure skating's most prestigious competitions, attracting the world's best skaters every year. It is in this exceptional setting that Lamond Signature will have the honor of contributing to the atmosphere with the creation of unique costumes, worthy of the momentum and energy of this global event.
